On one freelance site I noticed such a piece: the tasks are added to the list of new tasks in real time, without reloading the page, but the page does not send any ajax requests. I looked in DeveloperTools (Chrome). The Network tab is generally empty (except for any metrics and so on), and tasks are added somehow.
You can tell how this is implemented. Maybe nodejs?
