Postgresql DBMS is installed on one laptop. On the second laptop is a java application that I am trying to connect to. I dug up Google, people had similar problems, they solved them. I tried these methods - it does not work.

As url I specify "jdbc: postgresql: //...: 5432 / nameDB";

instead . . . - I tried to substitute an external ip, which is determined by my website from Google, I also tried to substitute IPv4 - the result is one:

java.net.SocketTimeoutException: connect timed out

New user for the database created - to no avail. I do not understand something, but I don’t know what exactly. Tell me what the problem may be and what you can read to deal with it. For the fool.

  • are they in different grids? if yes, then where the laptop with the base is the router, then you need to forward the port in it. - Tsyklop

On a laptop with a base, added a port to the firewall exceptions and in the configuration file, subd allowed connections over the network and everything worked out with a bang
