tl-wn722n is based on rt2800us and does not initially imply a monitoring mode. However, it will work if everything is done according to the instructions .
We are downloading a new driver from the github, thanks to which monitor mode will work.
git clone https://github.com/mfruba/kernel.gitGo to kernel / drivers / TL-WN722N_v2.0-Ralink /
Unpack the usual driver that is in the archive
rtl8188eu.tar.gzand install it.tar -xvzf archive.tar.gz cd lwfinger-rtl8188eu-00b5f0d make all make installMake sure the driver is installed in / lib / firmware / rtlwifi /
Next, go to the directory with the new driver and install it
make make installInstall dependent modules
modprobe lib80211 modprobe cfg80211Add a module to the kernel
insmod 8188eu.koRestart OS
shutdown -r nowUse ifconfig to determine the name of the interface.
And turn on monitor mode
ifconfig [имя интерфейса] down iwconfig [имя интерфейса] mode monitor ifconfig [имя интерфейса] up
- Thank you, could you answer another question, what is better to buy for Kalino Linux, TP-LINK TL-WN722N or TP-LINK TL-WN821N? It's just that there is always a risk that the instruction will not work, so can an adapter be purchased where is this feature supported? - Log1c0
- @ Log1c0 see the power output. quite old but good articles: xakep.ru/2016/09/27/wardriving-devices losst.ru/luchshie-wifi-adaptery-dlya-kali-linux-2017 . I also saw somewhere that wn812n does not accept a handshake and does not have monitoring - goodmice
- I do everything according to the instructions, but the make [1] error pops up: *** /lib/modules/4.15.0-kali2-amd64/build: No such file or directory. Stop What to do? - Log1c0
- @ Log1c0 if you are not able to figure it out for yourself, then it is better to ask a new question in which to attach the full output of the installation - goodmice
- 2@vp_arth thank) Next time I will try to display instructions, in addition to the link) - goodmice
