Tell me how to save an image installed on a DELL OS Ubuntu 16.04 on a USB flash drive? In the future I plan to restore / install the OS from a flash drive.

I bought a DELL laptop with a pre-installed ubuntu 16.04 system for educational purposes, i.e. Substantial changes are possible. But if errors occur in the system, I would like to be able to roll back to the version from which the laptop was purchased. As an option to save the image of the current OS on the USB flash drive. Perhaps there will be other suggestions ...

For the DELL laptop with Ubuntu, I found the installed solution: dell.com/support/article/ua/ru/uabsdt1/sln265750/...

  • Perhaps so help.ubuntu.ru/wiki/backup The first link to the issue - shkryabla
  • Clonezilla goes very well for Linux cloning, as @vscoder said. But specifically in your case - I would have scored, because sticking any Linux on a laptop is not a very big problem, and the store axes are not made for you. Generally it makes no sense. - don Rumata

You can create an image of a partition or an entire disk using clonezilla , saving it to external media.
