Specify at least what kind of web server (or better start with the manuals for it). - Dmitriy

The question is too general until the Linux distribution is specified (centos, debian, * ubunty ...) and the name of the web server is not specified (nginx, apache, tomcat ...) - AK
  • @AK debian distribution, I don’t know about the web server (I don’t know the difference, if I don’t feel sorry for my time, tell me about their differences) - Log1c0

As a rule, web servers now do not distribute just static files, but execute code written by a programmer. And so you could still ask questions - what will your project be (and, depending on this, recommend a web server), but let's just say that the most popular servers are apache and nginx - and we will give you a link to the first article that came up how to deliver. There will be clarifying questions - and then we'll talk - AK

individual questions should be asked separately (using the button of the same name in the upper right corner of the page) - aleksandr barakin

Like the vast majority of daemons, the program that functions as an http server and installed from a package designed for your distribution of the gnu / linux operating system can be started using the service program (script).

it must be run as root user :

 # service имя-демона start

имя-демона can be specified in the documentation for the above package.

  • @donRumata, how to run systemd, except perhaps pottering. and for systemctl , the service script is a great wrapper. - aleksandr barakin
