Is it possible to make a shadow around the View programmatically or through the markup so that it is uniform around the perimeter and given width, as shown in the figure below?

But didn’t you try to use View.setElevation () and View.setTranslationZ () as in the Material Design documentation? Https://developer.android.com/training/material/shadows-clipping ?
