Is it possible to load the folder with resources (*. Png * .dll) into your repository? Isn't that considered bad?

I add resources once, and then I enter them into .gitignore, in order to no longer track changes to the file.

Am I doing the right thing?

Nobody will forbid you this, and it is up to you to decide whether it is right or not. - LFC

Resources (such as images) are likely to actually be part of the project, so they should be in the repository. dll - if this is a product of the assembly, then they should not be, if it is an external dependency - then you decide. - insolor

.gitignore does not affect files that have already been added to the repository. Documentation : A gitignore file specifies the intentionally untracked files that Git should ignore. Files already tracked by Git are not affected; - PetSerAl 5:09

It may be worth considering the option of adding resources to the main repository as a separate submodule, which is also convenient - Malov Vladimir
