Interested in how I can find out certain information about computer hardware using Python 3? Suppose I want to write my own assessment of the system - I need to pull data about the processor, video card, etc. In which direction to look? Thank you in advance.

Look to the side of third-party modules. Perhaps you can help in part psutil . The modules for windows and the third python first of all take here (the rationale here ).

It is unlikely that such functionality will ever be added to the standard library, since not everyone needs it.

I do not know how true it is, but I would probably use the os module, but then there will not be some cross-platform.

      • What exactly will suffer from cross-platform? I write only under win, in principle. - Izengardjke
      • Well, not portability of the program to another OS, but since under Vin, I think there will be no problems. - Vorlog
      • and where exactly to dig in os? flipped through, something I could not find what I needed ... - Izengardjke
      • Well, for example, you can send commands to cmd to get this or that information, you can also use the subprocess module. And there is also a good book, "Python in system administration". - Vorlog

"Python in system administration" - the booklet is more suitable for * NIX like OS
