Takes the whole routine on yourself. You can work without it, but the simplest thing that comes to mind is updating the browser during layout, setting up prefixes, sass to min.css collector and much more.

    Maybe you NOW and do not need gulp, all tools become useful not earlier than you realize their usefulness, gulp is a system that simplifies development and assembly.

    However, at the beginning of the learning process, it seems to me that it is more important to know this kung-fu first, in manual mode, in order to understand where it hurts and what needs to be automated, rather than thoughtlessly connecting all the plug-ins and features in a row, because this is necessary.

    For gulp, there are alternatives (webpack for example), its main plus (which is sometimes a minus) is multithreading, that is, it runs your assembly tasks in parallel.

    Then the frontend frontend is different, you don’t always have to tinker with all aspects of web development, and when everything is limited to javascript, then you just need to write a build script for npm and forget
