I added my code to mscorlib.dll - is it possible to specify that vs load my mscorlib for use, and not the standard one?

I doubt it can be done.

Each assembly is signed with a key and placed in the GAC.

In the metadata of dependent assemblies, this key is written precisely according to which the required assembly is searched for.

You can try using App.Config to do this, but again, I doubt that this will work, since this build is taken from the GAC.
