The rpm -q centos-release command issues the following:

 centos-release-7-5.1804.4.el7.centos.x86_64

Everywhere I found the phpMyAdmin installation manuals, it was written that it would be available at the address https://ip-server/phpMyAdmin .

Can I install phpMyAdmin on a dedicated server so that I can access a separate address like https://phpMyAdmin.mysite.ru ?

No, you can not install at any address . Now make it available - yes, at any address. using the appropriate setting of your http server. // and for your desired use of the new domain name, start by setting dns. - aleksandr barakin

since the question is very “global”, I will give only a general plan of action:

  1. it is necessary that the calls to the new domain name ( phpmyadmin.mysite.ru ) come to your server. responsible for this is the dns server that serves your domain ( mysite.ru ).
  2. Your http- server should receive these requests (you will need a new server section in the configuration of the program nginx , virtualhost - in the apache configuration, etc., etc.)
  3. In the same section, you need to configure the work of an “ordinary site on php ”, the site root should point to the directory in which you installed / unpacked phpmyadmin .
  4. optional: it probably makes sense to remove (or disable) from the http server configuration, thanks to which phpmyadmin is available at mysite.ru/phpmyadmin .
  • Thank you, I understand DNS. I will deal with the rest. - Kyper

relatively speaking, you need to make "another php site." the code is ready for it - in the directory with phpmyadmin ( look - there is also index.php , everything is as it should be ), it remains to configure the appeal to this code. - aleksandr barakin
