Why does xpath //div[@class='message__main' and contains(.,"1 620,9 ₽")] not accept spaces inside contains() ? What is the problem with spaces

    Because it is not an ordinary space, but inseparable. In unicode, it is denoted as 0xA0 , so your expression should be like this:

     //div[@class="message__main" and contains(., "1\xA0620,9\xA0₽")]
