I will assume that the analog Socket.io in Sharpe is SignalR.
However, if we are talking about sockets, that is, the class Socket, with which you can work.
The essence of Socket.io and SignalR is to switch the connection method depending on browser support. If you control both programs, or rather you know that they support sockets, it makes no sense to have a complete client for all types of communication - just select the sockets and use them.
