I just started learning c ++, well, I began to stumble upon problems. Tell me how to install openGl on vs2017? On the Internet, I dug up either a video of 2013, or some glut, even after downloading it from the off in the dock I did not find a clear one, for myself the way to install it. Also in the process of searching, I stumbled upon all kinds of freeglut, grew, and so on, as I understand it, libraries. If not difficult to explain how, where and where to install openGL? I think the information will be useful and other teapot :)

There is no one right way to install OpenGL. You need to select and install two libraries: to open a window, and to load OpenGL functions (the second is Windows specific). To open the window fit SDL2, GLFW, FreeGLUT. There is just GLUT, but it is quite old. GLEW is traditionally used to load OpenGL functions, and GLAD is a good option. To begin, select two any (I would advise SDL2 + GLEW). Now you are essentially asking you to write a personal guide, but there are quite a few of them in Google. I'd rather try some, and ask about specific problems. - HolyBlackCat 8:39 pm
  • @HolyBlackCat, Thanks for the reply! Here is an example of SDL2. I went to the site and found 2 versions: Source Code and Development Libraries in each ton of files and folders (there are fewer dev folders), and now, I was puzzled, do I need to copy everything? What versions of libraries to download ( dev or source code )? On examples in the video, I saw how I downloaded 3-5 files and connected ./папка/file.h and here there is a whole list of files. (* I'm from the web, I'm not used to it when the library is not 1 file. Is this the norm?) - hitt
  • I say, look for the guides, it says what to download. You need one archive, most likely SDL2-devel-2.0.9-VC.zip . - HolyBlackCat 8:57 pm
  • @HolyBlackCat, check back, mark the right one. Thank ! ;) - hitt 9:04 pm
