I have a laptop. It has Windows 10 and there in order to press any of F1 - F12, you must first press Fn and then for example F12 . And if I press them without Fn, they do standard functions - for example, F1 mutes the sound.
How can I change these functions so that, for example, when I pressed Fn + F1 , the sound is turned off?

Yes you can. Find the Action Keys Mode item in the BIOS and change its value.

Press the F10 or F2 key to open the BIOS settings window. You can open the window from Settings -> Update and Security -> Recovery -> Special boot options ․

Go to the System Configuration menu using the left / right arrow keys. BIOS setup window with selected System Configuration options and Action Keys Mode

Disabled: Requires pressing and holding the function key (fn) while simultaneously pressing one of the keys F1 through F12 to use the function indicated on this key. For example, on some computers with Function keys off, pressing f11 will minimize and maximize the web browser window, if it is open. At the same time, pressing and holding the Fn + F11 key combination will mute the sound.

Enabled: You must press one of the keys F1 through F12 to use the function indicated on this key.

Press F10 to save the changes and restart the computer.

You at least specify what model it is, not all laptops have the same BIOS. :) - Yaant
    • @Yaant how do you see this? - Alt F4
    • I mean, you don't know what kind of laptop you have? Well, somewhere below there is usually a sign with the name of the model. - Yaant 6:01 pm
    • I did not think you want a BIOS model. I know the laptop model, of course. - Alt F4
    • No, of course, a laptop. And even the F10 doesn’t cause BIOS on all models. Maybe F2, for example. - Yaant
