Java 9 and Android whether the world?
Judging by the various resources on which I climbed, I saw that some functions from java 8 are still not supported in android, and normal support for java 8 in android only appeared in 2016, after the final release of 2014. And the final release of java 9 took place in 2018, I think support will soon begin, and now, it seems like you cannot use versions above 8.
UPD: Well, how soon ....
- Is it related to Oracle claims against Googl? If so, this explains the situation with kotlin. - user329672
- I read it here .... From 2010 to 2016, the amount of the claim between Google and Oracle increased to $ 8.8 billion, from 2014 to 2018 Google provided support for java 8 for so long, perhaps to delay it, since in 2017 Google connected Kotlin it seems like it became one of the official languages android - Alex Tremasov
- @ user329672, maybe that's why they pull with this - Alex Tremasov 7:38 pm
