I need a certain folder on the flash drive and a certain folder on the machine to be synchronized, and preferably not overwritten, and the latest version of the content was saved on both copies.
- oneTry rsync. - don Rumata
- If you were more specific, it would be more useful - Gybernaty
- I gave you a concept, as you requested earlier. Next - myself, there is nothing complicated, honestly. - don Rumata 9:01 pm
- @donRumata on both copies kept the latest version of the content. About 10 years ago I dealt with this problem (synchronization of several distributed systems) in some detail. And he came to the unequivocal conclusion - this is impossible. There must be a standard by which all others are synchronized. Otherwise, it turns out complete nonsense. The simplest case: file A was written to the flash drive, and file B was written to the computer directory. Which of these two versions is more recent? :-) Compare modification dates? Are you ready to take down the user file on the flash drive, which he recorded there 1 minute earlier? - Sergey
- one@Gybernaty, ok, you will have a concept next time. - don Rumata pm
