Good day guys. I work on a Dell laptop with a point stick embedded. Touchpad analog

Due to the fact that the laptop is quite old, this adjusting (pointing stick) began to fail by controlling the cursor on your own.

Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS OS is on the laptop. Previously, there was also Ubuntu, but I don’t remember exactly which version. And the issue of disconnecting the stick was solved in one xinput command set-int-prop "id" 'Device Enabled' 8 0.

Now the snag is that after executing the xinput command, the point stick device is not visible at all.

However, in the bus / proc / input / devices file, it is displayed with all its description.

Tell me, can someone come across a similar? And who can have any suggestions on this? Thank you in advance!

  • Judging by "xwayland", you no longer have X's, and using familiar commands like xinput is now useless. We'll have to either look for control input devices in Wayland (is it, I do not know), or switch to the session with X - andreymal
  • Okay. Now I will try to dig into this steppe. According to the results I will make changes to my question. Thanks for the info, there is at least a direction in which you need to think) - Evgeny Alekseevich
