Hello.

Making a portfolio, there was not a very brilliant idea. Menu.

How to make it so that it is highlighted as in the picture: when you hover the mouse, the words (home, potfolio ...) glowed, like:

Any ideas?

Sorry for the second picture. Just did not know how else this could be shown.

Each menu item is drawn with two pictures (with and without text highlighting). By default, you output without backlighting, when you hover your mouse, you change to a picture with backlight.

But in general, doing so is not good. It is better to leave the background for the menu, and the menu items display text. Then you can mess with the styles of the text itself, for example text-shadow

This is the same portfolio, the goal is to show that it can only with pictures :-) - karmadro4 am

With text-shadow, the desired effect is not always obtained (if you count on cross-browser compatibility). Very much different variations of its execution in IE, Chrome, Opera, FF, and others. Best of all, it is the graphical performance of different states (different pictures for hover, active) - at least you can be absolutely sure that different versions of browsers will display your site as it should.
