Particle announced three new Mesh-enabled boards

The company Particle (formerly known as Spark) yesterday announced the third generation of its microcontrollers for the Internet of things. The main feature of the new products is support for Mesh networks.

Argon

Wi-Fi (based on ESP32) + BLE

• 802.11 b / g / n support
• 2.4 GHz up to 150 Mbps
• Integrated onboard 2.4GHz antenna

Boron

2G / 3G or LTE (based on ublox SARA-U260) + BLE

• LTE CAT M1 / ​​NB1 module with global hardware support
• LTE M1 SIM support via Particle MVNO (US / Mexico only)
• Dual SIM support (Nano 4FF and MFF2)

Xenon

Low Power Mesh node (BLE)

• On-board 2.4GHz mesh antenna
• U.FL connector for external antenna

Argon and Boron can act as gateways through which cheap Xenons can access the network. The technology by which the mesh network is built is based on Nest's OpenThread .
